Description Vintage Avon Aftershave Bottles Chess Set. Offered here is the full Avon Aftershave Bottles Chess from the 1970s. This is the complete set of Avon Aftershave Bottles Chess pieces, 32 pieces (both silver/chrome and amber brown glass) with the King standing right at 5-1/2 inches tall with a 2″ diameter base. Every chess piece is a heavy glass bottles in that bold, retro Avon style. The silver pieces have a bright, shiny metallic finish, while the amber ones have that deep, rich, whiskey-colored glass. Each bottle holds 3 oz. of aftershave. all but three of the bottles (shown) still have the original labels with the classic scents, such as Wild Country, Spicy, Deep Woods, Oland, and others. Here is a list of the amount of aftershave in each of the bottles. Amber Brown Glass Bottles:  Completely full bottles are the Queen, Bishop, Knight, both Rooks and Four pawns. The King is half-full and the remainder are empty. Chrome Silver Bottles: Completely full are the Queen, both bishops, one Rook one Knight and all eight Pawns. The remainder are empty. Shown in the gallery are close-up photos. The Avon Aftershave Bottles Chess Piece bottles are in excellent condition overall. The three pieces with missing labels and one with loss of chrome plating are shown in the gallery. These chessmen are a conversation starter, whether on a chessboard or as a prominent display piece.
